Luis Rubio Gil-Orozco
Nefelibato (but his parents called him Luis) is a Valencia-born, Iceland-based composer, producer and inter-disciplinary maker. Nefelibato began his journey as a classical pianist, delving into interdisciplinary artistry, music production, composition, and performance. He graduated in classical piano at the Conservatorio Superior de Musica de Alicante and also studied for a year at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music. His creative exploration extends into electronic music, audiovisual experiences incorporating real-time audio reaction, and self-produced visuals.
With a penchant for ambient, classical, techno, and punk influences, Nefelibato eschews strict genre categorizations, preferring the fluidity of expression. Beyond his musical endeavors, he passionately engages in projects aimed at raising awareness about climate change, emphasizing nature's urgent call for assistance and using the voice of the nature in his compositions.
Complementing his artistic pursuits, Nefelibato shares his knowledge through workshops tailored for children, fostering creativity and consciousness.
“Resists the categorization of the artist in any specific musical genre, explore the fluid boundaries between them.”
